Eligibility criteria for the Prospective Marriage Visa
Genuine Relationship
You and your partner must demonstrate a genuine and continuing relationship through evidence of shared finances, communication history, and future plans.
Intention to Marry
Both parties must genuinely intend to marry and live together as spouses. You must marry within 9 months of arrival.
Sponsor Eligibility
Your partner must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen and meet sponsorship requirements.
Age Requirement
Both you and your partner must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
